The Pacifica Foundation was founded in 1949 by pacifist and conscientious objector Lew Hill, as a visionary alternative to commercially-driven media. Pacifica pioneered listener-sponsored, community radio in the United States and has been a beacon for non-commercial, free-media for over 60 years. Pacifica Radio, is the oldest public radio network in the United States and is archored by five sister stations which include:
