GRATITUDE: A BLOG BY MICHAEL FRANTI
Five things I'm grateful for: 1. My family: My two amazing sons who never cease to teach and amaze me, my mom, brothers and sisters, Jolene, my band-mates and crew, our management and creative team who inspire me everyday!!! 2. The gift of music: You've taken me all over the world and introduced me to people and places I never dreamed possible. Everyday you refill my heart when it needs replenishing and satiate my desire to create something meaningful that I can offer to others. 3. My health: After my near death ruptured appendix experience and subsequent surgery to remove it, I feel more grateful than ever for every precious second I am alive. I also want to give a special thanks to Dr.'s Gindi, Fallus and Spirt who put me back together again. 4. Yoga: It's got me through some of my most emotionally difficult moments this year and kept my body in shape for the long haul of the road. I have been practicing almost everyday while I am recording and it's been a great way to recharge and refresh my creative flow. 5. The People: All the people I've met around the globe this year. New friends, acquaintances, and all the people I hug after every show and only have a moment to share with. It's inspiring and humbling to rawk with the greatest fans in the world every night! I will be spending the weekend with family and friends and then continuing to record the best record I can make until I take a break in mid-december. I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season of family, friends, yummy food and sincere gratitude for all you have to smile about!!! Thanks for an inspiring year. Big love, michael franti

I want to say thank you for the amazing experience Saturday 5/29 in Baltimore. After I saw you in D.C. I was hooked. I love the music. You and the band are so amazing, and you guys have such warm hearts. I am inspired by your music. I think a lot less of what other people think about me. I jus want to be a better me, find a way to change the lives of the people I encounter. I want to spend more time with what makes me happy; my daughter (she jus learned to say your name), my friends, and my family ecspecially my father who nearly died 4 yearsago. Thanks for all of the love and inspiration. Cant wait to see you again in August.

Thank you- simple yet
Thank you- simple yet powerful words that could touch the heart of everyone. Rob Lowe plays the character Robert McCallister on the TV series Brothers and Sisters. There are rumors circling that Lowe has desired from the show and in the Brothers and Sisters season finale 2010 he gets just that. His persona has been possibly wiped out. Regrettably for all the Lowe supporters, he'll not be showing up on the show, except perhaps in some flash backs. In case you are an admirer of his, just start watching, Parks and Recreation, and it is rumored you'll see him there.

Michael, you are an inspiration. I've seen Spearhead about 17 times now in Glasgow, Edinburgh & Dublin & you never disappoint. You got me on stage to 'jam' with you at the gig in Dublin in June 2009 & I loved it. Thank you so much for that. I look forward to the new album & hopefully to see you again on stage very soon. We just enjoyed your concert
We just enjoyed your concert at the Mohegan Sun last night!! It was my 42 year old wife's first concert and she loved you guys!! Thanks for taking the time after the concert to take pictures with us!!! It really made her first experience memorable. I wish you continued Success!!!

You've touched so many people with your music and your words, Michael. It's incredibly inspiring to know that there are people in the world like you and that it's not all for naught...
