Description
Franti's newest video for 'The Only Thing Missing Was You' is a bit on the sexy side. Through grainy film, Franti and his lovely lady engage in honeymoon antics throughout a beachfront hotel room as a trippy snyth washes over the hypnotic vocals.
"'The Only Thing Missing Was You' is a song about love, longing and connection. I wanted to make a video that was steamy, sensual, playful and that pushed the boundaries of anything I had done before," Franti tells Spinner. "While on tour in Byron Bay, Australia I was messing around with the settings on a friend's 8mm iPhone app (by NEXVIO inc.) when we stumbled across a cinematic look that I thought perfectly captured the old school sound of the song. We decided to shoot the video right there in the hotel room using one iPhone to film, and another iPhone as our only light source (using the light app, Flash Mania by Pocket Books)."
"After years of making videos that have had strong social messages in them, I thought it was time to do something different and make a video that expresses something I feel is equally important: The beauty of love."

Absolutely beautiful video. We had the great thrill of dancing with both of you at the U2 concert in Phoenix last year. Then at your show in Tempe you brought me up on stage to dance with all of you, and some kids. I have traveled far and wide to see you and will be traveling again tomorrow to Tucson to catch your show. I have never seen Michael happier than he is now, with his special and beautiful lady. True love doesn't come around very often but when it does, sparks fly. Great to have a very different video of you Michael. We love your "rebel" but this is beautiful!
As I thought I never can
As I thought I never can watch this video I found some other services than youtube where it can be seen also in Germany. Most of videos from artists who signed by major labels can not be seen here because of copyrights restriction between youtube and the GEMA (German music organisation for music rights ...)

I like the message that being socially conscious is moumentally important, but that also as important is LOVE.
One question: maybe I am behind in news, but it says "honeymoon antics" in the description - did Michael Franti get married recently or is that just what the video represents?

Hy Michael,
since you have signed on a major label your music videos can not be seen also in Germany. It says: "Unfortunately, this video is not available in Germany, because it may contain music for which GEMA has not granted the respective music rights." So please upload also unofficial music-videos to get full support from your fans. I know you did it before.
