Having lived in a country at war as a child, Biafra in 1967, I knew that war is not an answer at a young age. I went to a Quaker school which taught me of the practice of pacifism. My college career which started with me training in musical theater, turned to studying music therapy. I saw bringing peace to the world through music. After becoming a music therapist, I decided there needed to be a spiritual aspect to my work- I studied Marriage and Family Therapy in a Pastoral Counseling program. Peace starts in the family. Then I was moved to follow my desire to use my hands for healing and became a massage therapist. Imagine everyone on the planet gets a massage everyday. It would be transforming. It's my most recent plan for worldwide peace. What is the purpose of this lifetime ? What is the lesson I am to learn ? I suspect it is detachment- or should I say unattachment to be fully present in each moment shared with another person to give and receive love and joy and bliss to really be there with that other and then to move on, not linger longing for one last kiss I feel this must be my lesson For that is how my life unfolds I can be happy in the moment Yet despair for past friends and loves And pine for a future unfortold My karma is to rejoice in what I have not to plan for what may never be and not to hold onto false remembrances So if this is to be my journey this time around I want to live it full out No holding back, no fear Love fiercely kiss passionately speak truthfully sing freely no pain or hurt or jealousy Each moment is the first and the last that is and ever will be
